Cookham Chronicles Reading at Cookham Library

Have you ever met a 150 year old toothless, vegetarian ghost wolfhound, and his fellow ghost Prince master ?

If not,  well now is your chance.

David Gilbert, Trustee of Friends of Cookham Abbey and Storyteller will be reading from his forthcoming book “The Cookham Chronicles” on 2nd August at 2.30pm at Cookham Library.

The stories are for children from 7 years of age upwards,  and all who enjoy a mixture of History, (the Cookham Abbey dig and our finds) and Imagination , namely invented characters with magical powers and life changing moral decisions regarding just who are your friends and who is your enemy?

These exciting, vivid,  supernatural and historical stories of the Saxon world from the 8th century will leave you laughing, crying, thoughtful  and with a deep warm glow inside.

Come along and meet Silver Serpent, Flame Fox (pictured below), Queen Cynethryth, Wifrida, Prince Taeppa , Wulfstan the wolfhound and not forgetting the one and only Sleeping Sister.”
