Anglo-Saxon Runic Script - An Update

Those who have been following the dig for a while may remember this small lead plaque, complete with rare, Anglo-Saxon runes, found in 2023. The country's leading expert has provided an interim report. Click below to read more.

Cookham Abbey @ Cookham Festival

|
Cookham Festival is almost upon us and features several events related to the dig:
|
Prof Gabor Thomas and Prof Mary Lewis will be talking on "Voices from Early Medieval Cookham: New Archaeological Insights from the Cookham Dig” on 3rd May while our brilliant Cookham Chronicler, David Gilbert, and the Queen's Chroniclers are giving a musical performance of the Cookham Chronicles on 12th May. Also on 3rd May, Friends of Cookham Abbey are running a "History is Fun" event for 8-16 year olds.
